This privacy policy governs the way Electric Ireland Superhomes collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “user”) of the electricirelandsuperhomes.ie website (“site”).   • Information on energy upgrade measures completed and grants provided 
  • Information provided to us as part of any follow up research or feedback process 

We obtain personal data indirectly about individuals from a variety of sources, including: 

  • Recruitment services and agencies who provide us with candidate data 
  • SEAI 
  • Service providers including architects, builders, BER Assessors, local authorities, approved housing bodies and third parties who provide additional services   

4) Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of device and technical information about users means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and the internet service providers utilised and other similar information. 

5) What types of Personal data do we collect?

We collect the following types of personal data about individuals, including: 

  • Contact details including name, address, mobile telephone numbers and email  
  • Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) 
  • Bank account details 
  • If you apply for a position with us: job and career history, educational background and professional memberships, published articles, areas of professional interest

 We process personal data on the following bases: 

  • Consent – when you provide us with your personal data directly, for example when you subscribe to our newsletter, consent to us carrying our certain services or apply for an open vacancy with us 
  • Contract – When processing is necessary to the performance of a contract with you 
  • Legal obligations – We may process personal data in order to meet any legal obligation requiring us to do so 
  • Legitimate Interests – We process personal data when it is necessary for us to achieve the following legitimate interests 
  • Undertaking direct marketing and provide insights and speciality knowledge we believe is welcomed by our clients, research partners, subscribers and individuals who have interacted with us

We process your personal data with the purpose of: 

  • Providing retrofit services, whole house and consulting services 
  • Promoting our professional services to existing and prospective clients 
  • Sending invitations and providing access to guests attending our events 
  • Administering, maintaining and ensuring the security of our information systems, applications and websites 
  • Seeking qualified candidates, and forwarding candidate career inquiries to our HR team 
  • Processing online requests or queries or requests for proposals and quotations 
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations 

8) How we secure your personal data when we process it

We have put appropriate technical and organisational security policies and procedures in place to protect personal data (including sensitive personal data) from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. We aim to ensure that access to your personal data is password protected. We encrypt all data stored at our central location and data is restricted only to those who need to access it. Those individuals who have access to the data are required to maintain the confidentiality of such information. All our staff regularly receive Data Protection Training. We install and regularly update all security and anti-virus software in use on all our systems. Please be aware that the transmission of data via the Internet is not completely secure. Whilst we do our best to try to protect the security of your personal data, we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site. 

9) Do we share personal data with third parties?

We do not sell or rent users personal identification information to others.

10) Do we transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area?

No, we do not transfer any personal data outside of European Economic Area (EEA) and all our data is stored on servers located in the EEA. 

11 a) Web browser cookies

Our site may use “cookies” to enhance user experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the site may not function properly.

Electric Ireland Superhomes may collect and use, users’ personal information for the following purposes: 

  • Registering the one stop shop and have a point of contact for ongoing communications 
  • Perform our functions assessing the application and administering the award of a grant, including carrying out inspections of properties 
  • Provide customer service to you and contact you if required to respond to any communications you might send to us 
  • Comply with our legal obligations 
  • Protect or enforce, your rights, our rights or the rights of any third party 
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal claims 
  • Improve the services which we provide to you 
  • Contact you in relation to other grants which may be available to you 
  • Respond to requests and providing information 
  • Monitor and evaluation of compliance with the terms and conditions of a scheme 

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our site. 

13) How long do we retain personal data?

We may retain your information for as long as necessary including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your Personal Data, the purposes for which we process your Personal Data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. We also consider regulatory guidance, as appropriate. Financial and personal grant data will be retained for 7 years. 

14) Your data protection rights

Right to Withdraw Consent – You can withdraw your consent at any time that you have given to one or more specified purposes to process your personal data. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. It may mean we are not able to provide certain services to you and if this is the case, we will advise you. 

Right of access – You can request details of whether we process your personal data at Electric Ireland Superhomes, and you also have a right to request a copy of this data. 

Right to rectification and erasure – Where you believe the data, we hold about you may be incorrect or out of date, you can ask us to correct it. You also have the right to ask us to erase your personal data after you withdraw your consent to processing or when we no longer need it for the purpose it was originally collected. 

Right to restriction of processing – You can ask us to temporarily restrict our processing of your personal data if you contest the accuracy of your personal data, prefer to restrict its use rather than having us erase it, or need us to preserve it for you to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
