Meet some of our team
Sarah O’Connell, Retrofit Energy Engineer
Sarah has been a Retrofit Energy Engineer with Electric Ireland Superhomes since October 2018.
Sarah’s current role involves managing all the key stages of a homeowner’s retrofit from initial survey to design of energy upgrades, contractor procurement and project management. Some of Sarah’s favourite things about her role:
“I really like the fact that I am helping people with a project that would be very stressful if they were doing it by themselves – I really feel the impact of what I and Electric Ireland Superhomes do; we often get positive feedback from homeowners at the end of a project so it’s really rewarding. Also, working in a business that is having a positive impact on the climate challenge makes me feel like I am contributing to a greater purpose.
It’s a great team to work with. There’s a really supportive culture and a wide variety of knowledge with a range of perspectives; so you feel you are constantly supported and always learning”.

Shaun Finn, Retrofit Energy Engineer
Shaun has been a Retrofit Energy Engineer with Electric Ireland Superhomes since January 2018.
He has a first-class honours degree in Renewable Energy & Energy Management from the Institute of Technology Tralee. He has previous experience working in the UK carrying out energy audits, on construction domestic energy assessments, specification of building fabric upgrades, heat load calculations as well as the design, specification and certification of heat pump systems for domestic and light commercial properties.
“There is such great variety in the role; it’s a great mix of engineering, personal interaction with homeowners, a little bit of sales, working with contractors. And you get to be on the cutting edge of new construction methods, renewable technologies and learning how to best use these to give a homeowner their best home. There is a huge amount to the role and it can be really challenging so it never gets boring!
The Electric Ireland Superhomes team is a great team with lots of opportunities to learn and in particular, a great onboarding process for new recruits to build their confidence in supporting homeowners as they make their house the best home possible”.
