SEAI Grants
The grant award will be deducted from the cost of works. You will only pay the net cost of the retrofit.
Electric Ireland Superhomes applies for grant funding and handles the grant process from start-to-finish on your behalf.
For a whole house retrofit, any house built prior to 2011 may be eligible. There is no minimum BER, however there needs to be a BER ‘uplift’ of 100 kw/hr/m2 to qualify. This means, in most cases, that a starting BER of B3/ C1 or worse will be required.
There is a fixed grant per eligible energy measure based on house type. There is currently a bonus to bring the home to B2 or better and other incentives to take a whole house approach.
Your energy upgrade project may be eligible for several grants, including the SEAI One Stop Shop programme. This programme offers enhanced grants that are ideal for a whole house retrofit, where grants of up to €30,000 are available. Single measure grants may be more suitable for certain homes, which range in value between €2,000 and €12,000.
