The Story:

Originally built in 1935, and with an E1 BER rating, their house faced challenges typical of older properties, including high energy bills and fluctuating indoor temperatures. The cost of this whole house heat pump led retrofit was €82,759, less SEAI grants received €21,900, final cost after grant €62,059 (cost excluding professional fees).
