Position description:
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Financial Accountant to work with our Electric Ireland Superhomes Finance Team. Through our One-Stop-Shop we offer professional services; design and project management of whole house energy efficiency solutions and help with access to finance such as grant support. Electric Ireland Superhomes has nationwide reach and will play a pivotal part in the energy transition in Ireland. This is a busy team that is embarking on planned large-scale growth.
Person Specification:
The person will be flexible, highly motivated and have experience working in a multi-disciplinary team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, and engaging with customers, contractors, and funders, and other stakeholders on a regular basis, this role requires a customer-centric approach with strong attention to detail and candidates should have capacity to deliver accurate work on time in a busy working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate and timely production of monthly, quarterly & annual end-to-end management accounts to tight deadlines.
- Review monthly performance including variance to budget and forecast, trend analysis, department reviews, providing comprehensive commentary and identifying areas of opportunity
- Support budgeting, forecasting and other business modelling
- Build and maintain cross functional relationships with other functions and stakeholders, providing support on new and improved ways to drive improvement & profit for the business.
- Promote cost awareness, saving opportunities and a continuous improvement culture throughout the business, through regular engagement and a strong focus on costs and value adding opportunities
- Liaising with auditors and the Revenue Commissioners as required
- Tax returns submissions: VAT, RCT, PAYE
- Payroll function processing
- Process improvements and an ability to implement new ideas
- Carry out project work as required.
Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes.
- Qualified Accountant
- Proven track record of delivering financial outputs to a high standard and on time
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills and experience with communicating with a multi-discipline team, customers, contractors etc.
- Experience in a deadline-driven office environment
Desirable:
- Experience with grant funding
- Experience with construction projects/accounts
- Experience dealing with Government agencies
- Interest in sustainable energy or sustainable development

Location:
Electric Ireland Superhomes head office is based in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. This role offers a blend of office-based and remote working, with a minimum requirement of two days per week to be worked from our office in Thurles.
